By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police seized suspected cocaine and detained a man following a stop-and-search operation on Station Street, Orange Walk Town, on Sunday night.
Police reported that at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers on mobile patrol noticed a man acting suspiciously after spotting a police vehicle. The man was stopped, and officers conducted a search.
During the search, police recovered four small plastic bags containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The substance was later weighed at the Orange Walk Police Station and amounted to 2.1 grams.
The man was informed of his rights and detained on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. Police stated that he refused to sign documentation related to the seizure and acknowledgement of rights.
The detained individual was identified as a 31-year-old Honduran national, who remains in police custody as investigations continue.
