By Breaking Belize News Staff: Reports reaching Breaking Belize News indicate that shortly before midday today, two men reportedly entered a yard in the Santa Cruz area of Santa Elena in what is believed to have been an attempted armed robbery/ home invasion.
According to initial reports, one of the men was armed with a firearm and the pair allegedly began banging on the front door of a residence.
The homeowner reportedly responded by opening fire on the suspects.
One of the alleged intruders was reportedly shot during the incident.
Police responded to the area and investigations are ongoing.
