By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In a final featuring Belize City schools, the Holy Redeemer RC boys defeated Belize Elementary School, clinching the Belize District Primary School Volleyball Championship at the Civic Center in Belize City on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Organized by the National Sports Council, the tournament featured fierce competition among four boys’ teams.
The Holy Redeemer boys got past the Belize Elementary School (BES) boys 2-1 in a tough championship match with scores of 25-15, 17-25, 15-7. Their journey to the finals included a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ladyville’s Our Lady of the Way RC School, winning 25-18, 12-25, 15-11.
The BES boys reached the finals after a nail-biting match against San Pedro’s Holy Cross Anglican School, in which they won in two straight sets: 25-23, 29-27.
The Holy Redeemer boys will now represent the Belize District at the National Primary School Volleyball Championship in Punta Gorda, Toledo, on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Semifinals:
- Holy Redeemer RC School defeated Our Lady of the Way RC School: 25-18, 12-25, 15-11
- Belize Elementary School defeated Holy Cross Anglican School: 25-23, 29-27
Championship Match:
- Holy Redeemer RC School defeated Belize Elementary School: 25-15, 17-25, 15-7
