Hit-and-run leaves 50-year-old man injured in Orange Walk

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a 50-year-old man injured Saturday night along the Belize–Corozal Road.

Around 9:15 p.m. on February 28, 2026, police received reports of a traffic accident in front of Dickerson Store involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a white pickup truck, license plate unknown, knocked down a Hispanic male and continued driving without stopping to render aid. The vehicle was reportedly traveling from Orange Walk Town toward Carmelita Village.

Police later visited the Northern Regional Hospital, where they encountered the injured man, identified as a resident of Chan Pine Ridge Village.

He was observed with injuries to the forehead. A medical form was issued, and doctors indicated that he is in stable condition pending further examination, including X-rays.

Police are seeking the driver of the white pickup as investigations continue.
