By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A teenager from Valley Community has been charged with multiple traffic offenses following a collision at Mile 21 on the Hummingbird Highway.
The incident occurred on November 12th, 2025, when the minor reportedly drove from a dirt road onto the highway, striking a Ministry of Rural Transformation Isuzu D-Max traveling toward Belmopan.
Police say the 17-year-old driver was operating an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle and did not hold a valid Belize driver’s license at the time of the crash.
He was formally arrested in the presence of his father and charged with driving an unlicensed motor vehicle, driving without a driver’s license, using a motor vehicle not covered by third-party insurance, driving without due care and attention, and failing to give way to a vehicle on a major road.
The investigation remains open as police finalize their file on the matter.
