
CiberCuba reports heavy flooding in Havana, Cuba, due to rains on Saturday. For Cuba Headlines, Daniel Vázquez also wrote that, in just three hours between 2:00 and 5:00 PM, 56 millimeters of rain were reported, causing flash floods in various parts of the capital. He added that “The precipitation is expected to continue in the western part of the country throughout the weekend and extend to the rest of the archipelago, with the potential to be intense in some areas.”
The rains appeared suddenly after noon. [. . .] Municipalities of Havana submerged under water following floods caused by heavy rains. The heavy rains that occurred in Havana this Saturday caused sudden floods in low-lying areas of El Vedado. Images from Centro Habana, Old Havana, and San Miguel del Padrón show a large ccumulation of water in the streets.
Images and videos shared in several Facebook groups show how the streets in that area were flooded with water after these sudden rains.
The waters reach a level that hinders the circulation of cars.
