By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police in Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Banrural in Melchor.
Surveillance footage showed 2 men approaching the bank to do a deposit, one of them armed since the deposit was for a Cash logistics company.
Suddenly, the men were approached by about 3 armed men who fired several shots at them and escaped with the deposit bag.
The company confirmed that 2 employees were shot and said they are working with the police to find the culprits.
Shortly after the armed robbery, police found a burnt vehicle that is suspected to have been used in the assault.
Inside the vehicle, police found large-caliber weapons that were also incinerated.
The burnt vehicle and weapons were found in a remote area in Melchor.
