By Breaking Belize News Staff: Fair, warm, and mostly dry conditions are expected to dominate Belize’s weather today, according to the latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service.
Skies will remain mostly sunny throughout the day and partly cloudy tonight. While the overall atmosphere remains dry, forecasters note a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly over the Maya Mountains this afternoon.
Inland temperatures are forecasted to soar, reaching as high as 100°F (38°C). Coastal residents can expect highs of 91°F (33°C), while the hill regions will be cooler at around 84°F (29°C). Tonight’s lows will range between 75°F (24°C) inland and 82°F (28°C) along the coast.
A Heat Alert remains in effect for inland areas. Residents, especially vulnerable groups, are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor exposure, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
Marine conditions are generally safe, with easterly winds at 5-15 knots and a choppy sea state. Wave heights were not reported but are expected to remain within normal ranges.
Looking ahead, Sunday’s forecast calls for continued fair weather with isolated showers or thunderstorms expected, mainly over southern Belize.
Sunrise was at 5:17 AM, with sunset expected at 6:23 PM. Tides will peak at 12:48 PM and fall to a low by 8:31 PM.
