Gwen Lizarraga High School, Escuela Secundaria Técnica México draw 2-2 in National Secondary Schools Sports Association Girls Football Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Escuela Secundaria Técnica México (ESTM) drew 2-2 with Gwen Lizarraga High School on Day 2 of National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) Girls Football Championship at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga on Friday.

The game was scoreless for the first hour, but as the clock struck 60 minutes, Jonel Blease put Gwen Liz up 1-0.

Lineth Chan equalized the match for Escuela Mexico in the 64^th but Blease scored again a minute later in the 65’ for Gwen Liz to take a 2-1 lead.

However, Escuela México wouldn’t be outplayed and tied the match 2-2 on a Betsy Perez goal in the 81’.

Both schools gained their first point after falling on Day 1. Escuela México were outplayed by Belmopan Comprehensive School (Compre) 6-1 while Gwen Liz lost 1-0 to Independence High School.

Earlier on Friday, Compre ran over Independence 9-0 securing the top spot with six points and 15 goals scored and only one allowed.

The NSSSA Championship comes to a close on Saturday with Escuela México battling Independence High School at 9:00 am and Belmopan Comprehensive closing against Gwen Liz at 1:00 pm.
