By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizeans in Belmopan will get a special display in the skies today as Guyana Defence Force paratroopers conduct landing activities as part of Belize’s 45th Independence celebrations.
The Belize Defence Force says the paratroopers will carry out landing activities at the field in front of the Curl Thompson Building in Belmopan City.
Activities are scheduled for today, Sunday, September 20, during the morning and afternoon.
Another landing activity is scheduled for the morning of Monday, September 21, as Belize officially celebrates its 45th anniversary of Independence.
Members of the public are welcome to observe the activities, but the BDF is stressing that spectators must remain outside the designated landing field.
The restriction is intended to protect both spectators and the participating Guyana Defence Force paratroopers.
The public is encouraged to watch from a safe distance and follow instructions provided by security personnel and event officials.
The parachute activities form part of a weekend of events leading into Belize’s Independence Day celebrations on Monday.
