By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Saturday afternoon armed robbery in Ladyville Village left a food vendor shaken after gunmen robbed him of cash and personal belongings at gunpoint.
Police say the robbery occurred at a residence along the Old Northern Highway when two male suspects wearing helmets entered the victim’s yard on a red motorcycle. One suspect, wearing a black shirt, reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded money.
After handing over thousands of dollars in cash and his cellphone, the victim was forced to lie on the ground while the second suspect searched his pickup. Although nothing was taken from the vehicle, the suspects reportedly grabbed additional cash from a nearby table before making their escape.
Scene of Crime personnel processed the area and conducted field interviews. Police later recovered the victim’s iPhone 13 Pro Max along the Philip Goldson Highway near Mile 11.
No persons have been detained so far, and investigations into the robbery remain ongoing.
