By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Belize City man was gunned down late Tuesday night in what police believe was a targeted shooting.
Around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, police responded to reports of gunfire on Nurse Findley Crescent. When officers arrived, they discovered 37-year-old Ricardo Arturo Escobar, a Belizean laborer, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Escobar was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m..
According to investigators, Escobar was standing on Nurse Findley Crescent when an unknown gunman approached and fired several shots in his direction before escaping.
Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area, where several 9mm expended shells were recovered. Authorities continue to search for the suspect as the Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB) intensifies its investigation.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
