By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Guinea Grass Village Council in the Orange Walk District is calling on residents and the wider public to assist the family of Rene Sarceño, who lost their home and all belongings in a devastating fire early Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
According to the Guinea Grass Village Council, the blaze consumed the entire structure before anything could be saved. No injuries were reported, but the family has been left without clothing, household items, or basic necessities.
In its message to the community, the Council emphasized the village’s long-standing spirit of unity and urged everyone to come together in support of the Sarceño family during this difficult time. Additional details were later provided to help guide donations.
The family includes:
- Boys aged 11 and 13
- A girl aged 6
- A youth aged 15
- The father, Mr. Rene Sarceño, age 45
