Guinea Grass man dies after being run over attempting to enter bus

By Aaron Humes: An Orange Walk District man died this morning in hospital after a traffic mishap.

The man, identified as Maximo Chan, was reportedly attempting to enter a bus when a passing vehicle knocked him down.

Villagers stopped the vehicle from fleeing the scene on the Guinea Grass Road and Chan was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital where he died. Emergency personnel reportedly took at least an hour to reach the village.

According to the village Chairman, new speedbumps are needed along the recently paved road to discourage speeding drivers.
