Foden succeeded where Haaland earlier failed, smashing in a rising drive for the equaliser and then sweeping in a low shot in the 80th minute after Julián Álvarez’s inside pass. ‘I always had the feeling he would score goals. Right now, he is winning games,” Guardiola said of Foden. Meanwhile, United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, insisted that the gap between City and United is not that big and fine margins are the difference between the two squads.
