By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect another day of mixed weather as relatively moist and somewhat unstable conditions continue to influence the country.
According to the National Meteorological Service, sunny skies will alternate with cloudy spells throughout today, but the atmosphere remains favorable for the development of showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly across southern Belize.
Forecaster Tareek Matthews says a few showers and thunderstorms could occur around the country during the day, with southern districts expected to experience the highest concentration of rainfall.
Temperatures will remain hot despite the increased cloud cover. Inland areas are expected to reach a scorching 95 degrees Fahrenheit, while coastal communities can expect highs of 89 degrees. Temperatures in the hills will remain more comfortable at around 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tonight, cloudy conditions are expected to continue with showers and isolated thunderstorms affecting mainly southern and some coastal communities.
At sea, moderate conditions prevail with east-southeasterly winds blowing between 10 and 20 knots. Waves are expected to range from 4 to 6 feet.
The good news for Belizeans is that tropical cyclone formation is not expected anywhere in the region during the next 48 hours.
Residents are encouraged to remain alert for changing weather conditions, particularly in southern districts where rainfall activity is expected to be more frequent.
