By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize’s Foreign Minister has indicated that he is willing to review the petition recently submitted to the Ministry of Immigration requesting that Belize revoke visa-free entry for Israeli passport holders.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said he has not yet received the full petition, but is aware of the ongoing public discussion surrounding it. Once the document reaches his office formally, he says he is prepared to examine what is being proposed and determine whether Cabinet should engage in a broader conversation.

While he did not commit to supporting or opposing the measure at this stage, the Minister acknowledged that Belize has long maintained a principled and outspoken position on human rights issues, particularly regarding events unfolding in Gaza and the wider Middle East. Belize remains one of the few countries in the region that has taken a firm diplomatic stance on the conflict, including the suspension of relations with Israel.

He emphasized that any decision taken by Belize must reflect the country’s values, its international obligations, and a clear understanding of what the petition is calling for. Once the Ministry reviews the submission, the matter could be placed before Cabinet for deliberation.
