Government says the programme represents an investment of $10.4 million.
“A hungry child cannot learn,” Briceño said.
The Prime Minister also reported that more than 19,000 secondary students, representing approximately 83 percent of secondary school enrolment, receive full or partial financial assistance.
More than 8,500 families are benefiting from that assistance, with Government investing more than $16 million this year.
Internet access has also been provided to 283 schools, reaching more than 78,000 students and 4,500 teachers.
Briceño said total enrolment from preschool through university now stands at 101,506 students, taught by 6,044 teachers across 646 educational institutions.
