By Zoila Palma: Today, the Government of Belize signed contracts with 8 institutions that will now be providing primary healthcare through the National Health Insurance (NHI).
Today’s signing means that the entire northside of Belize City, Belmopan, San Ignacio, Santa Elena, Benque Viejo, and surrounding communities can now access high-quality, comprehensive healthcare, laboratory tests, imaging, and medication at little or no cost through NHI.
Registration is occurring simultaneously in these municipalities.
