Government of Belize Hosts High-Level Dialogue of Regional Climate Change Platform in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

The Government of Belize, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is hosting the Third High-Level Dialogue of the Regional Climate Change Platform of Economy and Finance Ministries of Latin America and the Caribbean in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, from August 30-31, 2024.

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Investment, Civil Aviation and Immigration, is leading the Belize delegation. This event will bring together ministers and high-level representatives from 18 countries, regional agencies, IDB executive leadership and bilateral partners.

Over the next two days, the Platform will approve the new work plan for the 2024-2025 period and transfer the pro-tempore presidency from the Ministry of Finance of Chile to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia. The ministries present at this dialogue will formally adopt a shared regional vision on sustainable finance.
