By Zoila Palma: Today, the Government of Belize and the Government of Taiwan signed phase 2 of the Belize Women and Youth MSMEs Development Project Agreement, which will provide US$3 million in joint funding to strengthen Belizean micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with particular focus on businesses owned by women and young entrepreneurs.
This project, which will be implemented from March 2026 to February 2030, builds on previous cooperation that supported 2,000 women and over 100 start-up enterprises.
The project will provide beneficiaries with training, guidance and support to strengthen their business, improve market access, create jobs, and help achieve sustainable growth in Belize’s critical MSME sector.
