By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine, cloudy spells, and scattered showers today as moist and unstable conditions continue to influence the country’s weather pattern.
According to the Belize Meteorological Service, most areas will experience generally isolated showers and thunderstorms. However, residents in northern Belize could see a few more showers during the daytime as lingering moisture remains concentrated over that region.
Forecasters say skies will become cloudy at times tonight, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to develop mainly along coastal areas late tonight and into Saturday morning.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast and as high as 92 degrees inland.
Despite the unsettled conditions, there is some positive news for residents who have been dealing with days of heavy rainfall and localized flooding. Weather experts say widespread heavy rain is not expected today, and shower activity should remain relatively isolated across most of the country.
Meanwhile, tropical cyclone formation is not anticipated anywhere in the region during the next 48 hours.
The forecast suggests that while rain chances will continue into the weekend, Belize is expected to avoid any major tropical weather threats in the immediate future.
