By Aaron Humes: Elvira Virginia Grant Mulholland, 44, a resident of George Price Avenue, Santa Elena Town, Cayo District and Mile 12 Coastal Plain Highway, La Democracia, Belize District, is on remand at the Central Prison, the prime suspect in the shooting of her husband Jeffrey Mulholland.
Mulholland is charged with attempted murder, harm, and use of deadly means of harm. She was also charged with robbery but the charge was withdrawn in court temporarily. She is represented by attorney Lynden Jones.
Allegations are that on Friday, October 25, Mulholland used a firearm to shoot Jeffrey Mulholland, 59, a Canadian national, at their Coastal Highway residence. She was remanded without bail to the Central Prison until December 30.
ACP Hilberto Romero, officer commanding Eastern Division, stated that the incident was the result of a domestic dispute between the Mulhollands; police had no record of any prior altercation.
The gun used in the incident has so far not been recovered.
Sources say that Gina Mulholland left the scene with a male suspect on a motorcycle. Police caught up with and detained her but say they are still looking for her alleged accomplice.
