Swasey is a highly regarded and influential Belizean artist and designer known for his diverse artistic output, which includes photographic arrangements with social meaning, surreal collages, expressionistic and realistic portraits, traditional linocuts, and vibrant abstract art.
Beyond his own creations, Swasey is a pivotal figure in the Belizean art community, serving as a curator for institutions like the Imagination Factri and the Museum of Belize and actively promoting both established and emerging artists.
He is deeply committed to using art as a form of creative expression and a tool for community engagement, often leading projects like public murals with young students.
In the last decade, Swasey is widely considered one of the most highly praised artists for his design works specifically in a variety of wood materials.
