Stella Creasy has likened politicians ‘celebrating’ the 10% tariff levied by the Trump administration on imports from the UK compared with the 20% imposed on those from EU countries to someone celebrating a mugger who only takes their wallet but not their watch. In a speech in parliament, Creasy also said Conservative MPs who praised the decision to leave the European Union were ‘drunk on chlorinated chicken’ and urged them to ‘get real’.
