By Zoila Palma: Today, Galen University’s STEM Center launched its first Professional Development Workshop for Educators at Toledo Community College, under the theme “AI Essentials for Educators: Reimagining the Transformation of the Next Generation of Educators in Belize.”
The initiative marks a major step in advancing digital literacy and innovation in the country’s education sector.
The workshop offers a blend of hands-on and online learning experiences, providing educators with a foundation to explore and effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools into their classrooms.
Participants are learning about AI concepts, classroom integration, student AI literacy, and the importance of generative AI in modern education, while also emphasizing responsible and safe use of emerging technologies.
Through the STEM Center, Galen University continues to reinforce its commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning, empowering educators across Belize to embrace new technologies that enhance teaching, inspire innovation, and prepare students for a rapidly evolving digital future.
