Friends for Conservation and Development rangers participate in 2-day fire training

By Zoila Palma:  Rangers from Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) participated in a 2-day fire training focused on gaining essential firefighting knowledge.

Rangers covered fire behavior and the crucial safety tools and protocols, including the LCES (Lookout, Communication, Escape Route, Safety Zone).

Eight rangers completed the training, practicing to open fire lines, apply LCES, implementing incident command system and follow the action plan and response process on day 2.

This hands-on training prepares rangers to effectively and safely combat fires as a team.
