By Zoila Palma: On February 3, 2026, the UK-Belize Climate and Nature Legacy Awards 2026 was held.
The event was organized by the British High Commission under the slogan “Celebrating Legacy, Shaping Tomorrow”.
On the category of “𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝑩𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏”, Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) was awarded for outstanding partnership and shared action in addressing transboundary environmental challenges.
“We are grateful for the recognition and also for the support provided by the British High Commission in both Belize and Guatemala since 2015 for enabling us to establish long standing partnerships and joint efforts across borders in areas of biodiversity management, watershed protection, fire prevention and community development. FCD also congratulates the other awardees,” FCD said.
