By Zoila Palma: In honor of National Service Day, the Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) organized a community beautification project at the Victorious Nazarene School.
As part of the activity, FCD staff held a short assembly where students learned about the organization’s work, its conservation programs, and the importance of protecting the Chiquibul National Park. The session highlighted the role of young people in safeguarding Belize’s natural heritage.
Following the assembly, students and staff joined in a school clean-up that included tidying the compound, installing signs, and planting mahogany trees and flowering plants.
Adding a touch of fun to the day, FCD’s mascot, Scarlet, made a special appearance, delighting students and “stealing the show.”
FCD expressed gratitude to the school for the opportunity to give back to the community while honoring the legacy of the Father of the Nation, George Cadle Price.
