By Horace Palacio: A fresh east to southeasterly airflow will bring breezy and mostly fair conditions across Belize today, making for a comfortable and largely dry Saturday. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, a few lingering showers will affect central areas this morning, but these will gradually decrease as the day progresses. By tonight, only isolated showers, if any, are expected.
Winds will blow at speeds of 10-20 knots, contributing to a moderate sea state with waves reaching 4-6 feet. While conditions remain suitable for marine activities, small craft operators should remain cautious due to occasional stronger gusts.
Temperatures are expected to rise to 84°F (29°C) along the coast, 88°F (31°C) inland, and 78°F (26°C) in hilly areas. Tonight, temperatures will cool to 76°F (24°C) on the coast, 72°F (22°C) inland, and 65°F (18°C) in the hills.
Looking ahead to Sunday, weather conditions will remain partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with only isolated showers expected throughout the day. However, Sunday night could bring a few showers or light rain, mainly along the coast.
For those tracking the tides, low tide occurred at 6:03 AM, followed by high tide at 11:46 AM. Another low tide is expected at 6:10 PM, with high tide returning at 12:00 AM tonight. The sun rose at 6:19 AM and will set at 5:54 PM, while the moon will rise at 8:38 PM after setting at 8:11 AM.
