By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Freetown Road resident with a long history of drug-related offenses is once again behind bars after being convicted for the fifth time for possession of a crack pipe.
Kervisha Harris, 52, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #2, where she pleaded guilty to a single charge of possession of utensils used for smoking a controlled drug. Police reportedly found Harris in possession of a cylindrical metal pipe, measuring five centimeters, commonly used for smoking crack cocaine.
Magistrate Black, noting Harris’s long history of similar offenses—including a conviction just last month in June—said her continued behavior showed she had not learned from her previous sentences, which included both fines and prison time.
Despite her early guilty plea, the court imposed a three-month prison sentence, citing her repeat offending and lack of rehabilitation.
This marks Harris’s fifth conviction for pipe possession, highlighting what the court described as a troubling pattern linked to drug addiction.
