By Aaron Humes: Police have apprehended a man accused of murdering his own brother over the weekend. Rafael Cal, 55, was located in Tambran Village in the Toledo District by Punta Gorda Police, following tips received by authorities.
Rafael allegedly attacked his brother, Romano Cal, 50, who served as the Alcalde of Medina Bank, leaving him for dead with chop wounds to the body.
Police conducted a thorough search of the area, leading them to Rafael on what is ironically his birthday. He now faces murder charges as the investigation unfolds.
The Toledo Alcaldes Association (TAA) has expressed shock and called for justice for their brother Alcalde, who was well regarded in his village.
