By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 21-year-old construction worker from Lords Bank Village, Ladyville, has been hit with a second count of sexual assault and sent back to prison after new allegations surfaced during a recent bail revocation proceeding.

Frank William Young appeared before Chief Magistrate Deborah Rogers in Court #1 on Thursday afternoon at around 12:23 p.m., where he was formally read the additional charge in the presence of his attorney, Javier Williams.

The initial incident dates back to July 5, 2025. According to the original police report filed on July 9, 2025, the 9-year-old victim asked Young—her older cousin’s boyfriend—for money to go to the store. Young gave her a $10 bill and instructed her to take $1.00 for herself and $1.00 for another child, and to bring back the change. When the minor walked home around 7:00 p.m., Young allegedly ran toward her near her gate, grabbed her around the neck, squeezed her right buttock, and demanded to touch her private parts in exchange for keeping the change. Following a struggle where she received scratches to her neck, the child escaped and alerted her family. Young was subsequently arrested and arraigned later that month on charges of sexual assault and harm.

The case took a major turn on Friday, August 14, 2026, when the victim was summoned to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for Young’s bail revocation hearing. Before giving testimony, the child spoke with a court counselor and revealed critical details omitted from her original report.

She disclosed that during the same July 5, 2025 encounter, Young did not only allegedly grab her buttocks, but pulled down his pants and forced her to perform oral sex on him. She reported that Young then gave her $50.00 before she managed to escape to her father’s residence. The child stated she had kept these details secret for over a year due to fear.

Following the disclosure, police reopened the investigation. On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Young visited Precinct 2 Police Station where he was detained. After an official interview conducted in the presence of a Justice of the Peace, he was formally re-arrested and charged.

During today’s court appearance, Chief Magistrate Rogers took no plea from Young, as additional disclosure must be provided to the defense given the new charge stemming from the same event. The Chief Magistrate informed Attorney Williams that the complete case file has been forwarded back to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further directives.

Bail was denied, and Young was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 30, 2026. Defense Attorney Williams indicated that he will be applying to the High Court for bail on behalf of his client. Williams also publicly questioned the delay in disclosure, noting it was unusual for such a critical aspect of the allegation to be brought forward more than a year after the alleged incident.
