By Zoila Palma: Fourteen women from the Corozal and Orange Walk Districts have taken a significant step forward in their technical careers, completing the second phase of the “Cell Phone Repair Training for Women in Belize.”
Supported by the Government of Belize (GOB) and its partners as part of ongoing women’s empowerment initiatives, the participants received specialized instruction over a six-day period.
The training focused on advanced repair techniques, including micro-soldering, short-circuit diagnostics, and chip-level repairs — skills that are crucial for high-level smartphone servicing.
These women had previously completed phase one of the program, which introduced them to the fundamentals of mobile device repair.
Now, as graduates of phase two, they are equipped with the tools and expertise to enter the tech-repair industry with greater confidence and market competitiveness.
