By Aaron Humes: On Saturday evening on East Canal, Belize City, shots rang out, leaving multiple individuals with gunshot wounds. The attack occurred around 8:20 PM, with the shooters carrying out the attack from a silver van, parked at the corner of East Canal and Dean Street.

According to police, two dark-skinned men exited the van armed with firearms and approached a group of people socializing near a white van. Without warning, they opened fire on the crowd, injuring four individuals, including Errol Tillett, 43, Lincoln Patterson, 30, Sean Reneau, 26, and a minor, all of whom were subsequently transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical assistance. The injured are currently reported to be in stable condition.

Shortly after the shooting, Maximiliano Jones, a 20-year-old warehouse attendant, also arrived at the K.H.M.H. with gunshot injuries. Police suspect he may be one of the assailants involved in the earlier gunfire.

Investigation continues.
