By Zoila Palma:  Four schools from the Belize District are proudly participating in the 2025 School Garden Competition, highlighting students’ skills in agriculture and environmental stewardship.

At the high school level, Ladyville Technical High School and Belize Rural High School are competing, while Ladyville Evangelical Primary School and Hope Christian Academy in Rahburn Ridge represent the primary school category.

Students are applying hands-on techniques ranging from open-field planting to covered vegetable cultivation, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to sustainable practices.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise praised the participating schools for promoting food security and youth leadership through school gardening programs.
