By Zoila Palma:  Today, 4 Belizean healthcare professionals departed Belize enroute to Taiwan for non-communicable diseases training.

Through the Project for Strengthening Metabolic Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Systems, and with the collaboration of the Ministry of Health & Wellness and Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, two physicians, one nurse, and one District Health Educator will participate in a four-week training focused on metabolic chronic disease management and community-based prevention strategies in Taiwan.

The program is designed to strengthen Belize’s capacity in prevention, early detection, and long-term management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

“By deepening clinical expertise and public health approaches, these professionals will return equipped to further enhance patient care and community health services across Belize,” the Taiwan Embassy noted.

The Taiwan Embassy extended best wishes for a productive and successful training experience and look forward to the impact they will create upon their return.

Safe travels and successful training!
