By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Fortis Belize says that it is currently generating 43 MW of electricity, enough to meet approximately 40% of Friday’s demand.

“A big thank you to our operators, technicians and engineers working around the clock at Mollejon, Chalillo and Vaca hydroelectric facilities to continue supplying as much electricity as possible to the national grid,” Fortis said.

Fortis Belize reiterated its commitment with their customer, BEL to supporting the country’s electricity needs during this time.

BEL is experiencing temporary in-country generation shortages and curtailment of supply from CFE.
