By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A routine foot patrol in Orange Walk Town has ended with a man being charged over a drug-related utensil.
The Belize Police Department reports that on Friday, July 3, 2026, at about 9:00 a.m., officers patrolling along Bethias Lane stopped a man and advised him that he would be searched for illegal drugs, firearms, or ammunition.
According to police, during the search officers found a silver steel pipe, said to be used for smoking controlled drugs, in the man’s front pocket. He was cautioned and informed of his rights.
At the Orange Walk Police Station, the man was identified as 35-year-old Francisco Aragon, a labourer of Orange Walk Town. The pipe, measuring three inches long, was sealed and labelled for evidence.
Police went on to charge Aragon with possession of a utensil for smoking controlled drugs. He opted to remain silent.
