By Zoila Palma: The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) today donated field equipment valued at $60,000 to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, enhancing the country’s capacity to collect and analyze agricultural data.
The donation includes drones, tablets, and CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) devices, all intended to support data collection and monitoring activities in the field.
Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai accepted the equipment on behalf of the Ministry during a special handover ceremony held at the Grand Resort in Belize City.
The presentation was made by FAO’s visiting country representative, Dra. Ana Touza.
The handover formed part of the day’s events commemorating the International Day of Cooperatives.
