By Aaron Humes: In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into a shocking triple murder that occurred on March 19, police have arrested 22-year-old fisherman Shelby Hernandez, charging him with three counts of murder.
The gruesome incident took place at an elevated wooden structure located about a mile south of San Pedro Town. Around 9:30 PM, three individuals—Karim Espat, 29, Oscar Modesto Mas, 35, and 21-year-old Yerlin Marisol Bueso Alvarez—were gathered inside the home of Oscar Mas when the attack occurred. Eyewitness accounts indicate that three masked assailants, dressed in hooded jackets, entered the residence and opened fire, striking the victims with multiple gunshots.
Karim Espat and Oscar Mas were pronounced dead shortly after police arrived, while Yerlin Bueso was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic for medical treatment but tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly after midnight.
Karim’s wife was also present during the assault but managed to escape unharmed. Police are also pursuing additional suspects identified in connection with the case, including fishermen from the local area.
