By Breaking Belize News Staff: Eugene Webster Jr., a 36-year-old resident of Lords Bank, has been fined $2,005 after pleading guilty to possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply. Appearing before the Belize City Magistrate’s Court alongside his common-law wife, Webster claimed full responsibility for the drugs found in their home, allowing Rodriguez to be released.

The drug bust took place on Friday, November 1, when police executed a search warrant at Webster’s home and discovered 4.4 grams of crack cocaine concealed in a washing machine. Initially, both Webster and his wife were charged, but after Webster’s guilty plea, the charge against the woman was withdrawn. She spent her 32nd birthday in detention before her release.

In light of Webster’s cooperation, his status as a first-time offender, and his expressed remorse, the Magistrate reduced the initial fine from $4,000 to $2,000, adding a $5 court cost. Webster must pay the fine by February 28, 2025, or face one year in prison.
