By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested 23-year-old Andesha Andean Myers, a Belizean domestic of Belama Phase 5, for the crime of arson in connection with an investigation into a house fire in Belize City.
On Wednesday, September 10, about 11:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a fire in Belama Phase 5. Upon arrival, they observed the burnt remains of a wooden structure measuring 10 feet by 16 feet, while fire personnel were extinguishing the blaze.
Police spoke to 26-year-old Kent Flores, a Belizean labourer, who reported that he had gone out on an errand, and upon his return, saw his house destroyed by fire.
The total value of the house and its contents is estimated at around $5,000. The house was not insured.
