Description (by Dominique Brébion): One of the consequences of the rise of digitalization is an increased accessibility to artistic documentation thanks to the proliferation of blogs and specialized websites. This phenomenon has been decisive in the Caribbean, doubly hindered by geographic and linguistic fragmentation and by an often mediocre regional press, particularly in the French departments in the Americas.
What is the impact of art criticism blogs on artistic life in the Caribbean? What are the advantages of what is commonly referred to as network criticism [la critique de réseau]? What are the particularities of online art criticism? Does the practice of blogging renew the genre? If so, how? Can we still define criticism essentially as something written? What do new modes of dissemination bring to the field? What do visual artists expect from art criticism? These are some of the questions the artists answer in this documentary film.
