FFB’s General Secretary Earl Jones attends FIFA Diploma in Football Law course in Switzerland

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize’s (FFB) General Secretary, Earl Jones, is one of the participants in the FIFA Diploma in Football Law, a program that aims to promote legal excellence in the football world.

The diploma course, which will last 13 months, consists of five modules that cover various aspects of football law, such as contracts, disputes, and regulations. The modules will  be held in different locations around the world, such as Zurich in Switzerland; Paraguay; Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and Miami in the United States.

Jones will have the opportunity to learn from experts, arbitrators, and academics in the field, as well as to network with other legal professionals from different countries.

“By gaining insights from global counterparts and engaging in high-level discussions on football law, Jones will be equipped with advanced knowledge and strategies to bolster the legal and operational frameworks of the FFB,” the FFB said in a statement.

“This engagement is expected to facilitate the federation’s efforts in promoting fairness, transparency, and excellence within Belizean football, contributing to the sport’s growth and integrity on a national and international scale.”

The FFB said the Football Law course should help Jones to improve the legal and governance standards of the FFB and to align them with international best practices.

The Football Law course is part of FIFA’s vision to make football accessible and well-governed for everyone.
