FFB launches strategic planning workshops to shape the future of women’s football in Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) has taken a major step toward strengthening the national women’s football programme, hosting a series of consultative workshops over the past two weeks aimed at charting a bold, inclusive path for the next five years of development.

Over the past two weeks, the FFB have hosted a series of workshops under the theme “Building the Future of Women’s Football in Belize”, engaging athletes, coaches, managers, administrators, club owners, and executive members in a collaborative planning process.

Strategic Vision for Growth The sessions have focused on listening, learning, and co-creating a roadmap for sustainable development—from grassroots participation to elite competition. Central to the discussions is the empowerment of women and girls through football, with an emphasis on access, equity, and long-term support structures.

National Team and Coaching Voices Included Players from the Belize Women’s National Team were actively involved in the process, contributing their perspectives as elite athletes. Coaches were also key participants, offering technical insights and development priorities from both club and national levels. Their input is helping to shape a plan that reflects the realities of the game on the ground while aligning with international best practices.
