By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) welcomed 130 children and 31 coaches to the FFB Stadium on Friday for Day 2 of the Concacaf Bigger Game Clinic, a regional initiative designed to empower youth through football and foster inclusive community development.
The clinic forms part of the Concacaf Bigger Game program, a 10-week grassroots effort that blends sport with life skills, teamwork, and social inclusion. Belize joins other nations in the region in embracing the transformative power of football—not just as a game, but as a tool for education and unity.

Day 1 of the initiative featured a specialized workshop for 31 teachers representing 26 schools nationwide. These educators received both theoretical and practical training, equipping them to lead the Bigger Game curriculum in their respective communities. Each school will now deliver weekly football sessions tailored to engage at least 260 boys and girls across the country.
The program culminates in the Concacaf Bigger Game Festival, a celebratory mini-tournament to be held at the FFB Headquarters in Belmopan. Participants will reconvene to showcase their growth, both on and off the pitch.
FFB officials expressed gratitude to Concacaf for its continued support in bringing the Bigger Game initiative to Belize. “This is more than football—it’s about building confident youth, stronger communities, and a brighter future,” the Federation stated.
With the launch of this clinic, Belize takes a proud step forward in regional football development, proving once again that when great people come together, amazing things happen.
