Female officer charged for allegedly assaulting fellow female officer, claims she is being bullied by colleagues

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Tannitha Rowland, 24, a police constable, was charged in court on Wednesday with allegedly assaulting a fellow police officer, another woman, but claims she is being bullied by those within her own unit.

She appeared in court to answer to a single charge of aggravated assault. She was offered bail by the court and met it.

In speaking to our court reports, she claimed that the matter stems from internal issues within her unit at Precinct 2 in Belize City. Rowland claims she is being targeted and bullied after she made complaints about fellow officers in her unit.

The complainant against Rowland reported that she was about to serve Rowland with a disclosure for a previous disciplinary matter. Rowland noted that the date was wrong and started to walk away but when the other officer informed her that she was wearing a body camera and recording, PC Rowland allegedly told her “I don’t give a f**k, charge me again,” and turned around and approached her, causing her to become fearful for her safety.
