By Aaron Humes: Police continue to investigate the holiday killing of Randy Bowen, 39, also known as Randy Moore.
On Wednesday evening around 6:30 PM, police received reports of a fatal stabbing at Gales Point Manatee Village. Upon their arrival at the scene, approximately 100 yards from the main road, they found Bowen’s body face-up near the stairs of his residence. Initial investigations indicated that earlier that day, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Bowen was at home with his family, including his common-law wife, his stepdaughter, and her boyfriend, a 23-year-old unemployed man from Hopkins Village, Stann Creek District. A heated argument erupted between Randy and the younger man which ended in his stabbing Randy in the left side of his chest.
The suspect handed himself in to Hattieville Police and handed them the murder weapon, a knife which was sealed as exhibit. He was later handed over to Dangriga Police and remains in custody.
Bowen’s body revealed several injuries: a small cut on the left side of the face, another small cut in the center of the stomach, and a stab wound to the left side of the chest. The body of Randy Bowen is currently at Dangriga Morgue, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
