By Breaking Belize News Staff: The family of two-year-old Kaleel Nah will host a memorial walk this evening in San Pedro, beginning at 5 p.m.
Relatives and friends will gather at Corona Del Mar beach, walk through Seagrape Drive, and return to the shore — Kaleel’s favorite place. Participants are asked to wear white in his memory.
Kaleel passed away on September 3 while being transported to Belize City for medical care.
An autopsy confirmed his cause of death as acute respiratory failure due to influenza A (H1N1).
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has referred the case to the Medical Council of Belize to determine whether negligence occurred, which could lead to disciplinary action against medical personnel involved.
